He is risen... that changes everything!
Death. It is so final, so cruel, so...
There are many words that could be used in connection with the word death. Regardless of how you feel about it, there is one thing that is certain: Death comes to us all.
When thinking of Easter, most people think of the cross; the death of Jesus. Certainly, the death of Jesus is significant. An innocent man, the sinless Son of God, willingly offering up His life to die on a cruel cross. The fact that anyone would be willing to die as a substitute for another is considered noble, no less that God-in-the-flesh (Jesus) Himself would choose to die for a rebellious humanity.
AND YET, all of that is meaningless without the resurrection.
Without the resurrection, we are still left without hope beyond death. Without the resurrection, we are still held by the power of sin and death without hope or answers beyond the grave.
IT IS THE RESURRECTION THAT DEMONSTRATES THE POWER OF JESUS CHRIST.
Through the resurrection, Jesus defeated not only sin... but death itself! It is the resurrection that is the seal and assurance that the work of the cross is complete. It is the resurrection that gives us confidence that Jesus is who He said He is and has the power to raise us from death to life also. It is because of the cross AND the resurrection that we can confidently say:
"DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY. O DEATH, WHERE IS YOUR STING? O HADES, WHERE IS YOUR VICTORY?" (1 Corinthians 15:54-55).
Join us this Easter and experience Christ and the power of His resurrection in your life.
What to Expect
10:30AM | "THE STONE IS ROLLED AWAY"
We will open with a time of praise and worship. The morning message is titled "The Stone Is Rolled Away" and will explore why this is so significant to us today. We will conclude our morning service with communion and a time of reflection on Jesus' sacrifice.
6:30PM | "RESURRECTION POWER"
Sunday nights are always a time of victory and will follow a full gospel service schedule. The focus of the night is understanding the power of the resurrection of Christ and how God wants that same power to be actively working in our lives today. There will be an opportunity for prayer. If you are sick, in pain or need a miracle come and experience the power of Jesus Christ to change your life!
